Open the command prompt, navigate to “C:\Python27\Scripts” and then run Now you should finally be able to generate the genesis block.

Download the Python script mk_genesis_block.py to generate the genesis block and add this file into “C:\Python27\Scripts”. If the command prompt is still open, close and re-open (this time not as admin otherwise the PATH will not be including the geth folder). Open the command prompt, navigate to the Python script path (C:\Python27\Scripts) or add it to the PATH (in that case again close and re-open the command prompt in this case to use the new path) and then type. Install Python 2.7.0, the next steps will not work if you install a later version.
Also add the path to geth to the PATH (“C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\geth-stable\tools”), save and close Rapid Environment Editor (otherwise the PATH) wont be updated. “C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\geth-stable\tools”.
Open Rapid Environment Editor, right-click in the left panel (“User Variables”) on “PATH” -> “Add value” and paste geth folder, e.g. There are some maximal length issues in doing this from the command prompt, therefore I installed the Rapid Environment Editor. To start programs from the command prompt, they need to be added to the PATH variable. choco install geth-stable -version 1.0.0.0. Install geth, copy the following into the command prompt and then take note of the geth install folder, it is likely going to be “C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\geth-stable\tools”. Wait for the installation, close cmd and re-open (again as admin). -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "iex ((new-object net.webclient).DownloadString(''))" & SET PATH=%PATH% %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\chocolatey\bin. Copy and paste this (make sure it is one line, before pasting):. Start the command prompt in admin mode (“cmd” -> shift+control+enter to start as admin). But, eventually, I managed to get everything up and running.
